Become a Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Urban Safari Rescue Society. Volunteers mean everything to us. We can’t carry on our work without them.

Do you love animals and people? Are you interested in making a difference to animals and the public’s awareness of them? Join our diverse team of active and enthusiastic like minded people. Learn to educate and inspire visitors, promote animal conservation, learn to care for these amazing creatures from around the world, have fun in a unique atmosphere and make new friends.

We have many volunteer opportunities and flexible times. If you have a few hours a week or more time available we can find a spot for you. We also provide a way for grade 12 students to get their volunteer hours needed to graduate. Experience is not necessary but very helpful for some volunteer rolls. If  you are willing to learn, be part of the team, and get dirty we will train you.

Volunteers must be at least 16 years old.
Since we are not on a bus route volunteers must be able to provide their own transportation.
Volunteers are all required to fill out a volunteer application and have an interview.

Adult volunteers are encouraged to become members in Urban Safari Rescue Society.

Volunteer opportunities include:

cleaning cages and general cleaning around the centre
fund raising
assisting on our out-reach programs ( presentations )
plumbing and electrical
marketing and clerical
gardening & landscaping and tending to our vegetable garden
tour guides
mural painting ( with animal artistic flare )

Contact our office at 604 531-1100 week days

between 9 AM and 5 PM to schedule an interview.
