TARANTULAS

Tarantulas are a family of spiders best known for being big, hairy and scary. And while the Goliath bird-eating tarantula is the largest spider in the world, the truth is they are not as scary as we think. In fact, when they get scared, they will scrape off some of those hairs and toss them in the predator’s face before running away. And although they are venomous, they are docile creatures. We love to show off their amazing climbing abilities by letting them hang on our shirts using their retractable claws, kind of like cats! Even those who fear spiders end up loving their beauty and calm personality once they get to know them.
